We believe there is more KRYSTALFLEX® PE399 TPU used and specified today in the world than all other optical aliphatic polyurethane polymers combined. KRYSTALFLEX® PE399 is Huntsman’s multifunctional core product. Designed to serve a broad range of glass-clad polycarbonate applications, it is suitable for one line processing.

• Low modulus
• Low temperature processing
• Good adhesion to acrylics
KRYSTALFLEX® PE429 TPU is a ‘state of the art’ performance polymer with a unique and desirable combination of properties: low modulus, low temperature processing, high levels of adhesion to glass at low temperatures, good adhesion to acrylics and cold temperature impact plus high shear resistance.

• Lowest modulus TPU film
• Lowest processing temperature available
• Aerospace, transportation, architectural & electronic applications
• Severe asymmetrical, large, difficult glass-clad polycarbonate & temperature sensitive laminates
• Excellent low temperature impact
Providing a benchmark for genuine low modulus performance, KRYSTALFLEX® PE499 TPU films can be processed at low temperatures and are well suited to fast, non-autoclave laminating operations. Useful for difficult, asymmetrical glass and plastic laminates, this film provides the tensile strength, impact resistance and stability needed for glazing to perform in extremely cold conditions.

• High modulus & processing temperatures
• Well-suited to impact and bullet resistant glazing applications
• High tensile & tear strength
• Glass / glass impact laminates
KRYSTALFLEX® PE501 TPU films are tough and designed to autoclave under relatively hot conditions. With high adhesion levels, they are suitable for use in combined PU / PVB autoclave cycles and commonly used in bullet resistant glazing, impact glass and exposed edge laminates.

• Excellent impact and bullet resistance at both high and low temperatures
• Good low temperature flexibility
• High hardness, tensile and tear strength with medium modulus
• Same autoclave cycle as PVB
KRYSTALFLEX® PE505 combines high hardness with a medium modulus, creating a powerful union of flexibility and extreme toughness. This combination is what leads to KRYSTALFLEX® PE505’s superior impact and ballistic properties in both low temperature and high temperature environments – enabling the development of thinner, lighter, high performance safety glazing.
